Nightmare on Elm Street (2010) Review

The Nightmare on Elm Street remake was great, I approached the movie with low standards and all expectations were exceeded. I honestly thought the movie was going to be awful but it really wasn't. The remake went into detail about the history of Freddy Kruger, giving the movie a twist for new generation horror fans that may not have seen the original. The original Elm Street movies in my opinion were funny, there was very little funny about this movie besides a few punchlines here and there. From beginning to end my train of thought was focused on the movie and the ending created anticipation for a sequel. After the movie of course fan boys were trashing the movie because the original Freddy was not in the movie. I think Jay-Z said it best and I don't know the exact like but if you like the old me buy my old music. The movie industry is like the music industry and this remake would be a really good Def Jam album with alot of hype behind it and if you want a underground horror movie (Little Brother - The Listening) check out a flick called High Tension. The trailers for both movies are below.
Overall the Elm Street remake gets 4.5 fingers out of 5 to the face.
Flwrpt - Summer

1. Where did the name Calla's Creations come from?
*The name Calla's Creations comes from the love of my favorite flower the Calla Lily. It is so beautiful and elegant it is truly a creation from God. My creations come from God so there you have it Calla's Creations.
2. We all know you have skills cooking but what made you decide to turn it into a blog?
*I was led to do this by Eyes; but I also thought it would be fun to see if I could have a strong following like some of the blogs that I follow.
3. What are some of your favorite dishes to cook?
*Baked Spaghetti, Jambalaya, anything I can bake. (And anything that puts a smile on my man's face)
4. When you are not cooking, what else do you do in your spare time?
*Well I am a newly licensed teacher so I spend most of my time preparing for school and writing plans and also trying to find the funnest ways to teach my students. I also play my nintendo dsi xl, xbox (watching eop) and cooking. Oh and I love to read, watch movies and take pictures!
5. What is next for Calla's Creations, being there is already a cookbook that can be found on 1081 Creations.
*I would like to create a new cookbook and I would really just like to spend more time working on the blog.
6. Lets say you have your own cooking show who would be 3 people you would like to be a guest cook and what song would you use for the theme music of your show?
*Eyes Of Phases
*Acosta
*Percy Miracles
Theme music: from eop of course and all other worthy underground hip hop instrumentalists
Ok she would not want me on her show, trust me on that because her show will be mine.

This is one of my favorite bloggers Kid Nice of Underground Charizma aka UGC, he is also becoming one of my favorite producers. Check out the interview and the beats. Peace
1) Whats the meaning behind the name Underground Charizma?
There's actually nothing special behind it. At first I didn't took this blogging thing serious,
because I'm more of an active/outdoors guy... so I didn't really took the time to think of a specific name
for my blog (which I regret now). Initially I wanted to go with just "Charisma" (because it's something unique,
empowering, gifted,... to have) but that wasn't available so I added "underground" in front, because my plan was to
represent upcoming artists and real (Hip-Hop) music.
After five months or so I started getting some serious hits, so I decided to buy my domain name...but (here we go again)
for some reason Underground Charisma wasn't available, so I dropped the "s" in charisma and replaced it with the "z". And that's how
Underground Charizma was born ...
2) I have peeped your work cover art you have done for Shamgar, have you done any other projects?
Yeah, I did the cover of Gambitt's "SoulTape X: The Blue Bomber Bluez" Beattape
Here's the link: http://www.undergroundcharizma.com/2009/12/gambitt-soultape-x-blue-bomber-bluez-ep.html
I really enjoy doing those kind of stuff and I hope to work with more artists in the near future.
3) What is Kidnice doing if he is not blogging?
I'm a full time college student and an aspiring beat-maker
4) What music is Kid Nice currently listening too?
Diamond District
Gil Scott-Heron
The Broken Bells
Hudson Mohawke
5) Its obvious you are a hip hop head, what do you feel is the current state of hip hop?
Well, this is some corny ass question (lol...just playin). I think there are too many mainstream
rappers doing and saying the same ish over and over again. There's no originality, substance...
and some people see that on tv and they think, that's what Hip-Hop has to offer, which pisses
me off. Damn, I sound like an old fart (lol) but there is still hope tho...with the new artists
making up like Wale, Jay Electronica, Fashawn,... and you can't forget about those who have been
reppin' real Hip-Hop for ages!!!

Behind the Mind's Eye - Azi

This is a interview of an up and coming MC out of GA. He is a really humble young man and I see a lot of potential in his future. There was previous post displaying his talents and he is currently building on the feedback left. Now get a chance to understand the MC.
1) Azi introduce yourself to the world who are you and whats your story?
Well I’m Mykier Aziabor, A 16 years old Emcee who has aspirations and strives to be a successful artist yet keeping it real at the same time. Born in Rome Georgia but I moved to Athens a couple of weeks after birth. My story in a condensed form is this. Father who has been in and out of my mom’s house but in my opinion he was never and never will be in my life. With that being said I am the oldest of two my little brother (10) and little sister (7) are one of the biggest things driving me to rap and pursue my dreams. I want to show them that anything is possible point blank period because I never had that father figure to look up to and one night god spoke to me and he just said be strong and the rest will come. Since that day I’ve been in my opinion the man of the house. My mother has been big in my life because for 6 years it was me her and a beat up Honda. Even though the AC never worked and it always had the cassette player working. Now I live in a house with all of them but those Six years molded my life.
2) For me I see Shelia E, Chaka Kahn, ?uestlove and Kareem Riggins as inspiration to do music being I play drums but who or what inspired you to do music?
A christen rapper by the name of T-Bone is the reason I started to write anything. After my mom threw away my Ludacris who is still my favorite rapper till this day, I had to look for something clean. He was speaking what I felt and in my eyes I was like if he can do it why can’t I? Then I stopped writing on and off on a website by the name of www.letsbeef.com. It’s a battle rap type of format but I just saw it as a practice arena, a place for feedback until I was able to go recorded. After that comes Lupe Fiasco. The first CD I ever bought with my own money was his Food and Liquor. He say She say on that CD track #7 was the only reason I ever picked up a pencil again. Even though none of my peers can understand how I feel about music I know there are people out there who don’t want to hear B.S coming thru there speakers all the time
3) Let’s say you have an endless budget to record your album who would you have as producers and featured artist?
Of course I would want Eyes of phases to make a comeback as a rapper on a track that I produced. Swizz Beats, Manny Fresh, S.O.V are 3 of my favorite producers. I would really like to do a type of flip flop song where a producer makes a beat and I rap on it for about 4 bars then we flip it to a beat I made and he raps on it. Trey Songz on the hook for the song dedicated to my mom. I have to get T.I, Ludacris and Yung Jeezy on a pass the torch type song and One more with just all my Local Artist.
4) Being you are from Georgia do you feel that you are automatically put in a "box" to make crunk or party music?
I think that with the type of music that I make and because I’m not just talking about guns drugs money and women all the time cough (Gucci Mane) cough they wouldn’t look at me as a southern rapper. I think that rappers are all thrown in a box with a label and if you don’t like one in the box then you don’t like any of them. What box am I in? I have no idea and honestly don’t care what box I’m in as long as people are listening to my music. A fellow Georgia Artist said “Everybody’s a fan if you boo me or applause,” and that’s more than true. So with all that being said yes I feel like I’m being put in a box by others and that’s fine because I always think out of it!
5) Is there anything we can expect from Azi in the future?
I am currently working on a mixtape with about 5 artist in our school by the name of DGB. Dem Georgia Boys are all about having fun and getting our music out there. I refuse to stop so the question is when will we stop hearing from Azi? Haha I’m just a kid having fun with the pad until I can make money with it. I will continue to fine tune my art with you guys advice. Thank you everyone that took the time out to read this. Thank you Toot for the chance to answer your questions. Thank you EOP for the opportunity to be on your website. God Bless

This is Costa back again with another post. I told you guys as long as the Pollen Monster is outside I will be inside. This is something new to 1081 Creations called Your Favorite's Blogger Favorite Blogger, what I will do is feature the authors of the blogs that I actually read and find to be dope as hell. There will be several features coming up in the coming weeks so please be patient with me. I want to thank everyone for working with me to put these features together. ALSO I WILL LIKE TO SAY HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE VISIT THIS BLOG EVERYDAY, I DO NOT EXPECT EVERYONE TO COMMENT ON ALL OF THE POST BUT PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO CHECK OUT THESE FEATURED BLOGGERS AND SHOW LOVE TO LET THEM KNOW THEY ARE APPRECIATED. With that being said the first blogger being featured is Supastarrr of Supastarrr Says.
1) First of I most say that I really enjoy your blog and what motivated you to start blogging?
Thank you! You, EOP, and Infinity run a great blog as well. I love to write but I've never been the type to keep a diary. I figured a blog would be more fun to write about everything that interests me and others.
2) I love your blog slogan "its almost porn," whats the meaning behind the slogan?
I was joking w| Jonathon [of http://www.itsjonathon.blogspot.com/] on Twitter about a catchy slogan when I came up w| that. To me, SupastarrrSays.com has something for everybody, sometimes taboo, and addicting =)
3) What are you doing if you are not blogging?
I have two jobs and I go to school part-time. Aside from that, I love to spend time w| my family and friends.
4) On one of your recent post you presented the question "Wonder why they call you a bitch" and why is it they get called a bitch?
Because they're all the same; carbon copies of the next. The same goes for the "Niggas Are The New Bitches?" posts. Those groups of people are not thinkers and innovators, merely clones of drones living for First Friday so they can stunt w| their whole $287.69 check. I just want them to wake up.
5) On Supastarrr Says you address politics, what are your thoughts on the economy and the job that Obama is doing?
He's trying hard but as urgent as the situation is, I think he needs to focus on one project at a time [whether it be the economy, healthcare, education, etc].

Peace everyone this is Costa bringing you an depth look at one of my favorite emcees Stevo. We are taking a look at his past, present and the bright future he has ahead of him.
1) Stevo whats your story, who is Stevo?
My name is Steven Ragan. I was born September 13, 1986 at a Jackson, Mississippi hospital. I got my name from my god-father Steven Brown. While in Middle school I was threw out the house by my mother because I wanted to see my father and that changed my entire life. I grew more angrily at the way my life was going without my mother or her side of the family. I grew up feeling alone all the time because of it. Me and my father later had a misunderstanding so I started living with high school friends and often people I didn’t know; I felt as if no one care for me anymore and all I really had that I could call mine was music. “U should write about it,” is what a good friend told me and from there instead of crying about my pains, I wrote about them. This is why I sing, this is why I make the songs I make and do the things that I do. Besides, I got tired of hearing the same rotation of music being played on the radio over and over. I felt as if I could pick up a pen and notebook to write my own songs and hear the music that I wanted to hear and so I did.
The creativity that an artist has to create a different and a unique sound, sometimes if someone ever tried to negatively criticize my music and mostly, when I think about all of the things that I’ve been going through, that’s what motivates me to do what I do.
2) What motivates you to do music?
I used to listen to a lot of R-Kelly, Ginuwine , and even Usher for the R&B side, those were my younger days. I actually taught myself how to sing by listening to those guys and try to hit the different notes that they were hitting throughout their songs until I was able to develop my own style. When my life had seemed to get rough, I felt like the world was against me, I started listening to T.I. mostly through high school because I felt like I had to defend myself every time that I stepped off the bus. T.I. taught me not only to defend myself but to look at my situation and how life threw me and get up and try to do something about it. I’ve now started listening to a lot of Drake, to get the poetic and smooth side of me out because I really love to sing as well.
4) What is your thought process when you are making music?
When I’m making music I mostly go off of what or how I’m feeling at the moment. I’ve also been gifted with the talent to hear a type of music and according to what the instruments are playing is where I get my lyrics from. I write according to me and how I’m feeling because I know someone else is feeling the same thing. I don’t have 50 people with me in the studio asking them “does this sound good,” or “do you think people would like this, is it a hit?”
5) What projects are you currently working and where can the 1081 followers get your previous releases?
I’m a fast pace worker, if you hear a song from me saying 2012 and the year is only 2010 then yeah, that’s me. I do all of my work alone. I’m mix-taping right now and have been since 2007. Right now I’m working on my 2012 mix-tape called “2012.” I plan to post some of my latest work on datpiff.com soon and very soon. Even if I have to email tracks to anyone then if that’s the only way the people can get it then let’s get to it, my email is like an interstate do to all the collaborations that I do.
6) Word on the street you play Modern Warfare 2, my kill death ratio is about a 2 : 1.2, whats up with a private deathmatch me, you and EOP?
Yes, I do play Modern Warfare 2 just about everyday. My gamer tag is Ragan6 and I play it for fun or sometimes to get away from stressing out. I’m cool to play with anyone at any time, so add me.
7) Whats next for Stevo, is there anything we need to be on the look out for?
I’m now working with an old high school friend “MAG.” We call ourselves “Sick Muzik Entertainment”, so be on the look out for some more music from me with good quality. If there’s anyone who would like to collaborate with me please feel free to do so, I’m not charging at the moment at all. My email is sragan1@yahoo.com, I’m on facebook, look for Stevo Ragan and my myspace page is www.myspace.com/sragan1 so stop by and show love. Please remember that I’m a regular everyday person just like you, in the words of Drake “please don’t be scared of me.” Thank U

Kenn Starr - The Notti Joint

Gearing up for the summer release of his newest mixtape, Kragenoff, Washington, D.C. emcee Kenn Starr is proud to leak the first single, "The Notti Joint." No stranger to the hip-hop scene, Starr, who in addition to his solo work, is 1/5 of D.C.'s Low Budget Crew alongside Oddisee, Kev Brown, Critically Acclaimed, and Cy Young, has been making waves in the hip-hop scene for quite some time.
With this single, Starr is excited to be newly collaborating with the likes of Dave Notti who handled production on the track: "‘The Notti Joint‘ is my first time working with Portland-based emcee/producer Dave Notti. We linked recently and I found his production to be the perfect backdrop to the brand of hip-hop I strive to create and maintain," says Starr. The track features soul sample splicing reminiscent of the late great Dilla, gritty low-fi drums, and a characteristically consistent smooth flow. "The Notti Joint" clocks in at just under 2 minutes but represents the mixtape as a whole quite well according to Kenn, saying, "I felt like this was the perfect straight-to-the-point introduction to what people can expect from my upcoming mixtape." Elsewhere, the Kragenoff mixtape features production from underground heavy-hitters Oddisee, Apollo Brown, M-Phazes, 14KT, Kev Brown, and more.
Furthermore, in addition to the song appearing on Starr's Kragenoff mixtape, you can also find it on Mick Boogie's latest mixtape celebrating his forthcoming Asia tour for Nike. It's based on their "Changemakers" campaign, and features a host of rising emcees bringing originality and quality to hip-hop.
Kenn Starr's forthcoming full-length album, Two Track Mind, will be available via Mello Music Group this fall.

Nintendo DSi XL
Hello Fam,
It's Infinity back with some breaking news! As you all may know the Nintendo DSi XL was released on Sunday, March 28th. I was one of the lucky Black Americans that was able to pre-order and pick it up 1st on its release date!
Special Thanks to EOP for talking me into doing something nice for myself I haven't regretted the $ spent yet!!!!
I'm sure many of you feel that you could care less about a handheld Nintendo because it isn't mature enough for you but I beg to differ. This game system is more for adult's than it is for kids because not only does it have 2 digital cameras but it also has a web browser that uses wifi, a media player, a SD card slot, you can download games to it and not to mention the best thing of all the screen size is 93% larger than the Nintendo DSi & the DS Lite. That was a mouthful and I'm sure you guys are wondering what the price is well... GameStop is currently running a special 189.99 w/o trade in 129.99 w/ ds lite trade in & 99.99 w/dsi trade in. The only drawback is the loss of the game boy advance slot but being that you can download fav's like Dr. Mario & Bejeweled Twist who needs Super Mario Bros. 3? ;) Oh yeah it only comes in 2 colors for now Burgundy & Bronze (which actually looks Brown)
Here's a link to the cnet review for you techies out there who just need more specs:
